Are you looking to apply your problem-solving skills and in-depth engineering experience to a progressive, industry changing, life support device? If yes, then our clients’ Failure Analysis Engineer might be just what you’re looking for. As a Failure Analysis Engineer, you are responsible for conducting hands-on troubleshooting using state of the art diagnostic equipment to test, update, and repair the system of their leading product. For more complex issues you will lead cross-functional teams to help define problems, measure contributing factors, analyze results, improve product quality, and help develop plans for maintaining product stability.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the manufacturing and engineering departments to test and troubleshoot medical devices and components to ensure the product meets specifications
- Perform hands-on duties using test equipment in accordance with prescribed procedures, practices and specifications
- Form and lead cross-functional teams to define specific issues, resolve issue scope, and develop a measurement and analysis plan for determining root cause
- Coordinate measurement collection, analyze the results, report findings to the team, and propose next steps for the investigation
- Work with the cross-functional team to drive investigations to root-cause, propose solutions, and devise an implementation plan for the chosen solution
- Find opportunities to improve quality, processes, design, equipment and/or materials to Manager of Manufacturing Engineering
- Provide hands-on job function training to coworkers
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing best practices
- Understand and meet quality and delivery requirements
- Follow security, safety and testing procedures for all work performed
Qualifications and Experience include:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or related engineering field
- 4+ years applicable experience including 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, medical device experience a plus
- Ability to assemble, test and solve complex components in a proactive manner
- Experience with Six Sigma, DMAIC, and/or other established Troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis tools a huge plus
- 3D CAD skills a plus
