SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Position will interface between accounting department and production and will oversee all costing aspects of production. Provide feedback to operations regarding manufacturing variances and partner with plant management to improve efficiencies on a continual basis. Position will be responsible for maintaining accurate costs for all raw & packaging materials and finished goods. You will also be the lead with creation of yearly budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Record and reconcile weekly payroll entries for both plants
- Develop daily and weekly manufacturing metrics for operations team
- Maintain bills of materials to ensure accuracy with current recipes
- Calculate overhead costs both on a variable/fixed basis and by department
- Provide assistance with monthly close and ensuring all relevant manufacturing entries are properly recorded in the general ledger
- Assist with implementation of ERP system; develop training documentation for end users
- Analyze capital expenditures and record completed projects to the general ledger
- Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations
SPECIFIC SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP implementation
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office); PowerBI
- Demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to handle highly confidential information.
- Bilingual in Spanish is desired.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree – Major in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting within the food industry desirable.
