Our client is looking to fill a Data Scientist job opening to design and implement data-based services for their next generation systems. Their future product will involve the use of big data to improve and advance their product offering. They will utilize big data to create new product and service ideas, study the feasibility and work with other data scientists to create new idea and propose to their customer. They are at the leading edge of technology and are pushing forward the state-of-the-art.
The Data Scientist job opening is an 18-month contract position and you may be based in San Diego, CA., Seattle, WA. or Plano, TX. Prefer candidates from automotive or a visual imagery company.

Responsibilities:
- Develop software solution on embedded system
- Acquire directions and suggestions from management and headquarters to derive insights from big data
- Communicate with internal and external IT department to set up analytics environment, access big data and coordinate project schedule
- Improve product and service by utilizing machine learning tools and techniques
- Report data analytic results, propose improvement idea, and execute development plan
- Ability to travel within the United States and internationally
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering) / Information Technology / Computer Science
- 3-5 years of experience in machine learning implementation
- Experience in machine learning – deep learning implementation by using existing Python based libraries in any industry, like Keras, PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV and more
- 5 years of experience in hands-on development expertise using Python and C/C++
Additional Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience, including 2 years of experience in machine learning implementation
- Ability to communicate with IT department to set up analytics environment, access big data and coordinate schedule
- Knowledge of cloud-based services like Azure and AWS

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree / Ph.D. (Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science)
- Implementation experience in Hive and SQL
- Proficiency in Apache Spark, Scala or Java
- Experience in data visualization
- Experience in analyzing visual imagery
- Experience in geospatial analytics (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Strong interest in vehicle big data, such as CAN and location-based data
- Understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP, HTTP)
- Experience using Containers and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Docker Swarm, Kubernetes)
- Experience with Linux-like operating systems
- Experience developing new products and technology with an agile team
- Experience in all phases of software development (feasibility, design, implementation, integration, test, and support), preferably experience with complex systems that include multiple domains
- Ability to work across multiple disciplines (systems, embedded, cloud web, mobile, testing)
