Senior Accountant

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for tracking various asset and liability accounts, record related journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting related to accounts assigned. 
  • Handle Business License renewal filings and Ad Hoc projects as assigned. 
  • Prepare monthly journal entries including accruals, amortizations and correcting entries within the close scheduled deadlines.
  • Research and identify drivers of monthly and quarterly variances to prior year.
  • Reconcile various asset and liability accounts as assigned.
  • Assist in the implementation of internal control procedures and processes within the accounting department.
  • Prepare Ad Hoc reports as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline. 
  • Bi-lingual in written and oral in Spanish/English highly desired.
  • Over three years’ Financial Reporting experience. 
  • Public Accounting experience and food manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience in performing full-cycle accounting close and account reconciliations required.
  • Strong technical skills in applying US GAAP rules.
  • Overall knowledge of internal control environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft AX or Netsuite a plus.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Products including Excel, pivot tables and v-look ups.
  • Exposure to the following industries is a plus: grocery retail, warehousing and distribution, and real estate. 
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Past communication experience planning, executing, and reporting on the results of internal projects as well as presenting matters to management. 
  • Demonstrated numerical aptitude required and the ability to analyze complex financial reporting schedules required.
