Senior Payroll Accountant Job Opening:

Our client develops efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer. Their products are being designed to herald the transition of adoptive cell therapy from hospital-based treatment to outpatient therapy, like most other cancer treatments.

We are actively recruiting for a Senior Payroll Accountant job opening, a new opportunity with this growing company in San Francisco, CA. Relocation is available. They offer a very competitive base salary, bonus, and excellent health benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Semi-monthly payroll processing, including payroll journal entries preparation and account reconciliations
  • Review of AP invoice coding and resolution of any invoices with PO issues
  • Assistance with monthly financial close process for G&A accrual and account reconciliations
  • Approved employee expenses review and corporate credit card reconciliation
  • Preparation of deliverables with respect to quarter and year-end financial statement
  • Responses to audit requests
  • Maintenance of payroll and tax regulation updates
  • Preparation of year-end payroll tax reporting and 1099 filing

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years payroll/general ledger experience
  • A working knowledge of MS Office products with strong proficiency in Excel
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
  • A self-starter perspective, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • A knowledge of Federal and State tax reporting including 941’s, W-2’s
  • Experience in researching payroll and tax updates from IRS and various State jurisdictions
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical abilities, including the ability to troubleshoot problems and recognize areas for process improvements
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and high degree of professionalism
  • Experience with payroll related audits
  • Ability to research, reconcile and resolve payroll discrepancies within tight deadlines
