We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Developer to work internally and with outside business partners to deliver essential economic and operative understandings. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop an extensive mastery of the current business processes and their uses of collected data
- Extract information maintained in a variety of different data stores including SQL Server, POS T-Logs and Excel with the goal to meet reporting and business analysis needs
- Participate in all phases of development of transactional and data warehouse system projects: definition and design through implementation, debugging, testing, deployment, and support, ensuring application schemas and development are optimal and consistent
- Contribute to the design and implementation of transactional data models, development of T-SQL and maintenance of existing T-SQL in conjunction with .Net.
- Design and implement dimensional data models along with analysis of requirements and production of specifications for business intelligence functionality with ETL and reporting components
- Provide database operational maintenance, capacity planning and implementation of enhancements, including associated documentation of data models and configurations
- Participate in T-SQL code reviews and technical quality standards reviews
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five or more years SQL Server 2008/2008R2/2012 DBA experience
- Over five years T-SQL development experience, with good working knowledge of best practices
- ETL and BI solution development and maintenance experience using SQL Server 2008R2/2012, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
- Working knowledge with T-SQL development/analysis in an environment using ORM tools
- Experience with VMware/Hyper V, SharePoint 2010/2012, Windows Server 2008/2008R2/2012 and Active Directory
- Extensive skills and experience in business analysis, Information architecture, SQL Server, and Business Intelligence
- Developed engineer with broad understanding of all the components of large service-oriented architecture solutions
- Practical knowledge of Source Control Management, specifically branching, tagging, and merging of different code streams
- Experience of interfacing with project management
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and on a team, multitask and deliver quality results
- Desired knowledge of the following: Retalix; POS – ISS45; Warehouse Management System – Manhattan Associates; Net 3.5, 4.0; VMware / HyperV
- Experience with Agile development methodologies also desired
- Desired knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008/2010/2012 (TFS an advantage)
- Candidate must be a quick study and comfortable working independently and leading technical and non-technical teams.
