We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Risk Management to manage the company’s overall risk environment. This qualified candidate will be working at our Los Angeles, CA location and will manage the corporate staff in our Los Angeles and Houston offices. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the organization overall risk conditions including- insurance policies, safety, loss prevention, general liability, and workers’ compensation
- Plan, direct and coordinate risk, and insurance programs
- Manage insurance policy renewals, claims, issuance of certificates, budgeting, risk minimization programs, and accident prevention programs
- Oversee the selection and management of insurance brokers, TPAs, insurance carriers, outside counsel and other third-party vendors
- Effectively manage corporate staff in Los Angeles and Houston offices
- Prepare operational and risk reports for management analysis
- Lead in-house claim handling for de minimis cases
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or related field
- Risk Management Certifications, desired
- JD or MBA a plus
- Working knowledge of MS Excel
- Over five years upper-level work experience in a Risk and Safety capacity for a large, multi-state organization
- Over ten years’ experience in Risk Management and Safety
- Experience working for a publicly held company is desired
- Working background in Retail and Manufacturing, a plus
- Strong understanding of actuarial reporting and the drivers which impact them
- Experience with large deductible and self-insured programs for multiple jurisdictions
- Deep understanding of California risk environment
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Direct and hands- on leadership style with a strong work ethic and influencing skills
- Able to meet constantly changing needs of the business
