We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to work independently within the scope of accounting responsibilities for the company. This qualified candidate will be working at their location in Houston, Texas monitoring accounting activities in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and/or review monthly general ledger reconciliation schedules by reviewing general ledger activity and obtaining a full understanding of the account activity to support month-end reported balances according to the month-end close calendar
- Responsibilities may include prepaid expenses, deposits and other receivables, payroll and benefits accrual, and other accrued liabilities
- Analyze certain revenue and expenses (e.g., general, administrative, advertising, selling and marketing expenses) by reviewing expense trending as well as accrual analysis for completeness of liabilities and expense capture, as well as providing input with regards to variances
- Audit responsibilities to include assist with annual external financial audit; prepare audit workpapers; and work directly with auditors to answer questions regarding schedules provided
- Assist with other audits: Corporate tax audits, Sales Tax audit, Personal Property Tax Audits, etc.
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
- Ad hoc reporting and other projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
- Certified Public Accountant license or achievement towards CPA license is required
- Thorough understanding of GAAP
- Over two years of public accounting experience (external audit) with a Big4, National, or Regional Firm
- Possess teamwork spirit and work independently within the scope of responsibilities for the position
- Strong analytical, flexible skills, and an ability to manage well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Ability to plan and monitor activities according to priorities and multi-task
- Must be proactive and motivated with a high customer service orientation for both internal and external relationships
- Ability to direct and supervise staff
- Good organizational, problem-solving (solutions-oriented approach), negotiation and follow-up skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate, high level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel, and knowledge of General Ledger software packages
- Bilingual in Spanish (read, write, and speak) is a plus
- Periodic travel to Houston, Texas
